Affairs of the Heart

There are folks who posess, a big mansion of stone.

And they work night and day, for something to own.

But forgotten dreams, are left all alone.

And their kids long for love, in their prison of stone.

Oh and they’ve been such foo-ols, right from the start.

They’ve been mixing ambition, with affairs of the heart.

Yea, they’ve been so cru–el, and they’ve gotta stop.

Stop mixing ambition, with affairs of the heart.

Now they’ve got their estate, but it cost them much more.

And they’re strangers at night, as they tote up the score.

There’s a kid on the run, she’s found love on the street.

And one’s in the news, as they drift off to sleep.

Oh and they’ve been such foo-ols, right from the start.

They’ve been mixing ambition, with affairs of the heart.

Yea, they’ve been so cru–el, and they’ve gotta stop.

Stop mixing ambition, with affairs of the heart.
